How Many Times Have You Failed? And ... How Many Times Can You Pick Yourself Up?
Have you ever been under immense pressure and thought to yourself ... "I'm not sure I can keep doing this!"
You feel so weak and depleted and you wonder where your energy and enthusiasm went. It feels easier if you just stopped and settled for the life you have right now!
Yep, I've been there too. Like any normal person we all have challenges in our life.
1) In the past 9 months I have had to readjust my whole life since becoming a single Mum, so I can raise a baby and a toddler by myself.
2) Plus my daughter went to hospital due to a life threatening medical condition.
3) On top of that I'm building my business online, which doesn't operate properly if I drop the ball and I'm not taking consistent action ...
But all through this, no matter how much I thought I couldn't cope ... I just knew I had to keep going ... But where do you find the strength ... ???
Actually, a little LIST came across my desk one day and it really struck me at how strong the human spirit is. This list is one man's life. It's truly a testament how we can all learn and grow from our experiences in life - despite whatever happens to us.
1831: Failed in Business, 1832: Defeated for Legislature, 1833: Failed in Business again, 1834: Elected to Legislature, 1835: Sweetheart Died, 1836: Nervous Breakdown, 1838: Defeated for Speaker, 1843: Defeated for Land Officer, 1843: Defeated for Congress, 1846: Elected to Congress, 1848: Defeated for Re-Election, 1855: Defeated for Senate, 1856: Defeated for Vice President, 1858: Defeated for Senate, 1860: Elected US President
Who is the person I am talking about in this list? ----- Abraham Lincoln
What a great list - just an amazing and inspiring life all down to the defeats and finally dreams of one man. As I read it I start to feel even more inspired just to keep going. No matter how slowly I have to move as long as I'm still moving in the direction of my dream, then I am still creating my destiny!
Think about when you have taken your life seriously or when you have been most passionate, it's probably after you've been under enormous pressure in your life. Pressure is what creates DIAMONDS. YOU ARE A DIAMOND IN THE MAKING!
So, back to my question: "How many times can you pick yourself up"???? .... Only you can truly answer that, but I'm just going to keep going until I fulfill my dreams!
