Generally, forums will not generate huge amounts of income unless they get extremely popular because they will usually rely soly on advertising income (often PPC income). They are very low-tech websites and can usually be installed with most website hosts with the click of a button. Forums do make an excellent addition to websites that offer quality information or services because it will give your users an area to comment on your website, submit suggestions and resolve help issues. Stand alone forums are best made when you have a targeted audience that does not have a good, public outlet such as a forum to congregate.
